Vol. 1: The Viking has the last laugh. Appearing in both starring and supporting roles, the old Norseman becomes a vengeful spirit whose attacks on park visitors are part of a curse that may date back to the park{u2019}s founding .
Description
Vol. 2: The Viking reappears in Tales of Rocky Point #2, this time as part of an extended story about the origins of Rocky Point Park. The account starts accurately enough by noting that Rocky Point began life as a country retreat for Sunday school groups in the mid-1800s. Soon, though, the narrative veers into spookier territory. While exploring the grounds one day, a worker discovers a mysterious statue of a Viking hidden in a cave. The park{u2019}s real-life founder, Captain Wilson, is summoned to examine the figure, which is accompanied by strange drawings depicting, among other things, a Ferris wheel and a rollercoaster. Dazzled by what he sees, Captain Wilson instantly decides to expand Rocky Point into a full-fledged amusement park. The Viking, meanwhile, becomes the park{u2019}s star attraction {u2014} this despite a nasty habit of killing, maiming of simply scaring the wits out of park visitors.
