Welcome to the new catalog!  Explore | Enjoy | Ask Questions

Here are some ideas for you to make the most of your new online library experience.

Start Here

There are a few chores you may wish to tackle first.

  • Update your bookmarks.  Your library now has its own custom catalog for you.
  • Change your PIN.  This will help you keep your library record private.
  • Recreate your lists from the old catalog.  You can search for items and add them to a list one-at-a-time or visit Your Lists and add multiple titles to a list by title or ISBN.
  • Recreate your saved searches from the old catalog.  Simply complete your search and configure your facets, e.g., Adult Fiction, and click on Search Tools > Save Search.

Enjoy New Features

Our new catalog has some great new features.  One of our favorites is the new home page with categories and book cover images for you to browse everything your library has to offer you.  You can control what you see!

Library catalog browse categories

  • Recommended For You.  This button appears when you rate titles.  You will notice star ratings on books in the new catalog.  As you rate books, the catalog tries to guess other books you might like.  Give it a try!
  • Your Lists.  Those books lists that you just created will also appear here right on the homepage of your catalog.
  • Your Saved Searches.  You get the picture.  Your saved searches will also appear right here so you can easily browse new books that meet your criteria.  Hint: when you make your search, change the sort to "Publication Year Desc" so the newest items show at the top.

"Explore More"

When you do a search, you will find more than books and other physical items held by your library.  You may also discover:

  • Ebooks and digital audiobooks from eZone.
  • Magazine articles from our statewide partners at AskRI.
  • Staff picks (Lists) from librarians throughout Rhode Island.
  • And even more resources that are unique to each library.

Why Did We Change Systems?

From time to time, it is important to take a fresh look at the products you use and what's new in the marketplace.  In short, we liked what we saw.  This new system has a more modern look-and-feel and offers you more tools to access the books, movies, music and more that you seek.  We hope that you will agree once you settle in!
