When the college chancellor has to resign after he is arrested for driving drunk on the way home from a massage parlor, philosophy professor Matthew Rogerson is faced with the search committee to hire a new chancellor--a search that plumbs academic infighting, backstabbing, and even murder--all the while trying to avoid having himself named to the post.
